Gametiime Athlete:
Tara Mitchell
Race: Free to Breathe 5K (Tacoma, WA)

Race Description: Free to Breathe is an event series and fundraising program that was initiated in 2006 in Philadelphia, PA in an effort to build a foundation for raising the public’s awareness of lung cancer and increasing research funding to defeat lung cancer. Funds raised from Free to Breathe events support National Lung Cancer Partnership’s vision of doubling lung cancer survival by 2022. The National Lung Cancer Partnership is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, originally formed in 2001, and officially incorporated in 2003.

Free to Breathe events are runs, walks, bike rides, yogathons, golf tournaments or other athletic and community-minded activities. These events are an enjoyable way for survivors, family, friends, advocates and community and corporate teams to honor those who have been touched by lung cancer, by fundraising.

Gametiime Athlete Highlights:

  • Tara finished with a 5K PR time of 22:08. Great job, Tara!

This course is designed to start in downtown Troutdale and begin with a few rolling hills. Half-way through the course all participants will have breath-taking views, waterfalls and run/walk through scenic parks trails. The finish will surely drive you home along the Old Historic Hwy!

Energy Events will manage our course and your safety. We are prod to work with a professional management company and we know you won’t be disappointed.

The Heroes Mud Run proudly supports our police, military, and fire personnel, and we have some great charities we will be supporting! Come show your support as well, either as a participant, or a spectator!!!

Gametiime Athlete Highlights:

Gametiime Athlete: Jessica Placek Durfee
Race: Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K (Lake Chelan, WA)
Race Description: Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon and Half-Marathon are USA Track and Field certified. Both courses begin on the south side of the 55-mile-long lake and follow the shoreline through the quaint town of Chelan and then on to the community of Manson on the lake’s north side. The course is generally flat with some hills in the beginning and then again between Chelan and Manson. As anyone who has done this race will reaffirm, the views of the lake and the Cascade Mountains and vineyards are incredible!

We also offer a 10-kilometer run — which has been growing in popularity — that begins on the north shore and ends in Manson.

Gametiime Athlete Highlights:

  • Jessica completed the full marathon for this race!

The organization and amenities are top notch, and the course is scenic and wonderful. There is something for everyone in this rural Vermont classic tour. It is one of those “must do” end of summer races in New England. Manchester, Vermont is a year-round sports and recreation destination in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest.

Gametiime Athlete Highlights:

  • This #Gametiime Weekend Collection submission by Mark was the farthest from our hometown of Seattle that we’ve ever received and we’re happy to see it! If all works as planned, the Gametiime community will someday be made up of runners throughout the country. Thanks for being a part of the Gametiime community, Mark!
