In light of the tragic events that took place on Monday, April 15th, 2013, at the Boston Marathon, we are wholeheartedly behind an effort to organize a group run — one week from the day — to pay tribute to the victims, their families, and all of those affected by the incident that occurred on Boylston St.
Following in the lead of pavement runner and three inspiring runners in the Gametiime community, Kate, Kristin McGunnigle, and Anne Marie Kuhnau, it is with a heavy yet resilient heart that we will be joining the Boston Strong Seattle run at Greenlake Park next Monday, April 22nd, at 6:15pm.
A number of great running organizations are rallying behind this event as well, including: Super Jock ‘n’ Jill, Oiselle, and Kinetics Sports Rehab. We look forward to joining them and many of you at this event as we come together to embody the spirit of all runners.
To make a play on the simple, yet powerful words expressed by the Thomas Grilk, Executive Director of the Boston Athletic Association, on Tuesday, April 16, 2013: “The running community is strong. The running community is resilient.”
