Tell us about the Retro Run 5K. What, when and where is it? Thousands of runners show up each morning in the decade ensemble of their choice to celebrate the music and culture of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Event dates and locations can be found at www.TheRetroRun5K.com. For us here in Washington, the Retro Run 5K will be coming to Spokane on May 18th with the race taking place at the Spokane County Raceway.
What to can participants expect to see and do? The Retro Run 5K is an untimed fun run/walk through the decades. Runners will experience a foray of music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s at each kilometer they pass and en route the finish line. When they cross it, they will enter into a party of the decades with everyone dressed in their favorite retro gear and having a rockin’ good time!
What do you consider to be the best part about the Retro Run 5K? The music, costumes, dancing, and a fun family and pet-friendly atmosphere.
How many participants do you expect for the race? The goal is to have around 5,000 people each race. The first few races of the season will be more in the ballpark of 2,000.
Does the Retro Run 5K benefit any charitable organizations? If so, which ones? Yes, we support Team Challenge, the endurance training and fundraising program for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. $2 from every registration goes directly to their organization in support of their cause.
Anything else you’d like to share with the Gametiime community? The run, which is untimed, promotes a positive culture of wellness and a connection to our past, all the while empowering people with a sense of personal accomplishment and a rockin’ good time!
So, what’s the promo code again? The Retro Run 5K is giving the Gametiime community $10 off at checkout. Just enter RETRO at registration and you’re all set! (This discount applies to all cities.)
